Please join us for an artist’s talk by Holly Marie Armishaw as she discusses her current exhibition The Gilded Life, which uses a historical analysis of the life of Marie Antoinette to critique contemporary “civilized society.” Political propaganda is discussed in comparison to the intimate personal life of Marie Antoinette through self-portraiture re-enactments drawing sociopolitical and feminist debate through engaging the viewer with both portraits and objects of self-reflection.
