Plant Life

Alex Waber’s Plant Life series focuses on the boundaries of the two-dimensional medium of photography. The images invite the viewer to experience the physical surface of the object as separate from the image just beyond, thereby shifting the narrative properties of the captured photograph. Narratives created around flowers are equally as rich as they are varied. Nearly every plant has a symbolic meaning, a scientific function, and an aesthetic quality.
